Global Impact Zonta International, founded in 1919, seeks to empower women worldwide by improving the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women at the global and local levels through service and advocacy. Zontians are passionate about empowering women in developing countries through international service. Through funding from the Zonta International Foundation, the Zonta International Service Program has provided training, education, health, sanitation, agricultural and micro-credit assistance to women, primarily through projects implemented by the agencies of the United Nations and other recognized non-governmental organizations. Zonta Club of Madison, in Area 2, District 6 of Zonta International, financially supports both local and Zonta International projects. Zonta Madison also provides Service and Advocacy in support of women’s issues in our area. Chartered in 1940, the Club will celebrate its 85th anniversary in 2025.
